When Wade Wilson, mercenary extraordinaire, was diagnosed with cancer, he went over the edge into insanity. only an experimental treatment designed to emulate Wolverine's healing factor saved Wilson from certain death, but it mangled his appearance in the process. But hey, it motivated him to become Deadpool, right? And that's good for us!
