Bowen Designs only offered a handful of these super rare Artist Proofs. The amazing Spider-man, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, first spun his heroic web in August of 1962. When bitten by a radioactive spider at a science demonstration, nebbish teenager Peter Parker transformed from wallflower to wall-crawler, inheriting the arachnid's agility, proportionate strength, and an uncanny awareness of impending danger-the "spider-sense". Fashioning a colorful costume and a pair of web-shooters, Peter leapt into the limelight as Spider-Man.
