Bowen Designs Grey Gargoyle Mini Bust
Released in 2006 and sculpted by William Paquet. This Grey Gargoyle Mini Bust is a limited edition run of only 1500 worldwide. This one is a very rare Marvel Sample of which Bowen Designs only offered a handful. Due to its ability to bestow immortality as well as transmute common metals into gold, the fabled Philosopher's Stone stands as the ultimate aspiration in the craft of alchemy. Nevertheless, it doesn't possess the unique qualities attributed to The Grey Gargoyle's concrete-creating chemical compound. As recounted in Journey into Mystery #107 (August 1964), Paul Pierre Duval was a young Parisian chemist who spilled a potion contaminated with some unknown substance onto his right hand, which caused it to assume an organic stone-like texture. Accidentally touching his other hand, he was aghast to see it also acquire the same granite-like characteristics. Upon investigation, Duval found that he could alter his whole body into a living, moving statue possessing vast superhuman strength and resistant to harm. After experimenting further, he discovered that the change lasted about one hour, and that he could transform any organic or inorganic object into stone by touching it with his right hand. Other living creatures affected by Duval, however, proved incapable of movement until the transformation ran its course.
