Bowen Designs Polaris Mini Bust
Released in 2006 and sculpted by Mark Newman. This Polaris Mini Bust is a limited edition run of only 2500 worldwide. This one is a very rare Marvel Sample of which Bowen Designs only offered a handful. Polaris (Real Name: Lorna Dane) saw her star rise during the Silver Age adventures of The Uncanny X-Men in issue #49 (October 1968). Like the term polarity after which she is named, Polaris has demonstrated the tendency to display extreme opposites regarding her personality. Born with a latent mutation, it is possible that she could have lived a life as a seemingly normal member of society if not for the fact that her genetic makeup was essentially jump-started after she was psychically summoned to Samuel Saxon (in his in his pre-Machinesmith form), who required a mutant with specific characteristics. Saxon Utilized a Cerecro-like device that brought Dane to him and, after arriving, placed her in a "genetic stimulator" which altered her genetic structure in such a way as to activate her formerly latent mutant ability, giving her powers similar to those of magneto.
