Bowen Designs Sauron Mini Bust
Released in 2009 and sculpted by The Kucharek Brothers. This Sauron Mini Bust is a limited edition run of only 500 worldwide. This one is an extremely rare Marvel Sample of which Bowen Designs only offered a handful. The fearsome flying fiend known as Sauron (Real Name: Karl Lykos) winged his way into the lives of the Uncanny X-Men in 1969 (X-Men Vol. 1, Issues 59 & 60). While not as epic as his literary namesake's, the origin of Marvel Comics' Sauron is also fraught with bizarre landscapes and corruption due to a lust for power. As a boy, Karl was bitten by a pack of wild Pteranodons, causing a unique mutation in his genetic structure. it wasn't until later in has adult life that this mutation brought about the physical changes in his body that gave him the Namesake "Sauron"!
